He has returned....

Skaket Dec 12, 2009 01:26 PM

We'll I had company for most of the afternoon....Squeaker, my resident squirrel. LOL He spent well over two hours in my bird feeder eating the bird seed. Now, that there is snow on the ground, I guess he finds it more difficult to find food. All the squirrels were making a feast of the acorns but right now they're covered with snow. Oh well, a couple of sunny days should solve that problem and the acorns will be available again and the squirrels will be happy.

Ah poor squirrel he is sure having a feast in your feeder.
They used to hang on mine that was on my kitchen window sill and make it twirl all over the place.

Well, the poor squirrels have to eat too. Perhaps if we have some warm weather and the snow melts, Squeaker will go back to the acorns. He's funny to watch. Every now and then, he'll look in the window. I have yet to see a bird in it. I know that there is still a cardinal around because I saw him the other day. Perhaps they won't approach the feeder if the squirrel is in it. This is also an easy feeder for a squirrel to feed from. I thought about putting it higher out of his reach but though he might jump and break the window. LOL I have another feeder down the basement. I think I'll bring that one up and put it in a different window where the squirrels can't get at it.

Well, I took the feeder down. Another squirrel appeared and I was afraid what would happen if they both wanted to get in the feeder. I'm going to move it to another window where only the birds can get to it.

Yes, he was a cute squirrel, Sally and fun to watch but it was just a matter of time before the feeder ended up in the snow below it and you know who would have to go get it. LOL After the holidays, I'll see if I can find a better place for it. A lot of snow has melted from part of my front lawn so the squirrels are back to gathering the acorns.
