Snow's acoming

deetu Dec 19, 2009 08:20 AM

Gonna be a big one. I did a weather search yesterday and it looks like a big blue blanket heading our way.
I think you're safe Mary Lou. It said it is reaching New York.

Well, at least my sister is happy. She lives along the shore and they don't get much snow. She wanted a white Christmas.

Yes, I guess it is, Dee. I use to look forward to a lot of snow but not anymore. LOL I brought Sam and Samantha, my reindeer in. I just don't feel like digging them out if we get a foot of snow as you can see from this picture taken a few years ago. They're not predicting a foot for us but you never know. I've seen a foot of snow fall with a "little or no accumulation" prediction. LOL Yes, living near the shore helps. I guess the salt air "eats" up the snow so they say. The salty ocean water also takes longer to heat up and to cool down.

I hope everyone up there stays warm and safe.

Here is a photo of our very rare snow a few weeks ago. It is fun when it doesn't happen often.

Take care!

What a gorgeous picture of a beautiful house, Sally. That's the kind of snow I like. We would call that a dusting. It's pretty and then it's gone in a day or so.

I brought Sam and Samantha, my reindeer, back in the house today with our prediction of snow tonight and possibly tomorrow as well. It will be much easier for the gentleman who plows for me without them in the way. Hopefully, we won't get very much and I can put them out again.

Thank you. Yes, more of a dusting. A few years ago, there was 8 inches in Corpus Christi, Victoria and that area on Christmas eve. That was a nice amount to see for Christmas!

I love to see the snow falling, Sally. It's when it hits the ground and starts to accumulate that I have a problem with it. LOL The word "amount" is the key word.

Dee, I just checked our forecast again and they're still predicting six to ten inches...starting tonight and lasting into tomorrow. I hope it's closer to the six inches than to the ten. Katie's not going to be a happy camper when she sees it and neither am I. Santa Paws will be happy though. All this snow will be good for his sleigh. I just looked outside and it hasn't started yet. Oh well, the first storm is always the most difficult. After that, you kind of roll with the punches. LOL

Ended up getting 4-5 inches. Seems like more for some reason. Neighbor said 8 inches but it's not that much.

My sister on the shoreline ended up getting 2 feet. 2 feet! They never get snow. She is loving it.

Well, we ended up with a foot of snow, Dee. The gentleman who plows for me was here as soon as it ended and my driveway is now snow free thank goodness. He also cleared a big area for Katie. I'm sure this won't be the last snow of the season but hope it's the last big one.

Great to have that man clear up the snow for you. That is a lot of snow.

Randy is wonderful, Sally and so accomodating. Some just want to plow it any old way and get it done and over with but not Randy. He's done my plowing for a couple of years now and knows exactly what needs to be done. I'm so lucky to have him. The CT shoreline got two feet of snow. That's unusual for them. It won't last too long there though. The salt air tends to get rid of the snow rather quickly.
