Icewind Farms (shiba breeder east coast)

NikkosOkasan Jan 18, 2010 06:57 PM

Happened upon this interesting site regarding a breeder.

I read some negative reviews on them. Don't think i'll be
referring anyone to them.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I personally have never had any experience with them but a friend of mine did when she was looking for another puppy when her Shiba died a couple of years ago. Without getting into details I will say is her experience was pretty much the same as in the link and suffice to say she didn't get a puppy from this place but did get one from another well respected breeder and was very happy with her choice.

They sound rather controversial. I know from time to time
people come here looking for breeder suggestions.

Good or bad.. it would probably help if your friend wouldn't
mind posting her experience with them?

btw.. Glad to see our resident Celebrity and Super Shiba Beni is doing well.

Thanks for the kudos to Beni! He keeps hanging in there!

As for Icewinds I think we could agree they are a little different and perhaps not the best but we need to be careful not make any posts that may be seen as to negative or an attack on them in the eyes of the moderators. As for my friend her experience was pretty similar to those in the link. Her direct questions went unanswered or were circumvented and it seemed like most of the business aspect was run by a young girl.

i mispoke. didn't mean for her to post here but to the link in the original message.

Beni just keeps amazing me. And the fact that he is representing our breed of choice so well, just does a my heart good.

It does seem like they have a bit too many litters now? We got Mojo from Icewind in 2004 and so far, so good health-wise.
They only had a few breeding pairs at that time and had switched over from breeding Malamutes.

Keep researching your breeders, you'll find one that you are happy with.
