This is a cross post from another list:

Little Jimmy was found as a stray about 4 months ago, but the people who found him couldn't keep him since he wasn't getting along with their other dogs. LJ is about 2 years old, weighs 36 pounds, vaccinated upon entry, already neutered and heartworm negative. He's a very handsome boy, everyone who has seen him has said he's a pure Shiba. One volunteer in particular not only said that he was pure, but also the nicest Shiba she's seen at the shelter, EVER. So, he gets along with people, but not other dogs it looks like. He was a bit head shy when he first came to the shelter and was fidgety when doing the blood draw and vaccinations. The technician recommended adopting him to a family with no little children around.

LJ was up for adoption, but has kennel cough and needs some help. We don't have any foster homes that can take him, so it looks like unless he is transferred to rescue he will be put to sleep. Unless we hear that there's a chance you can take him, LJ will be put to sleep at the end of the day Thursday 1/21.

Update to Cross Post! T

"Update from Olga
Little Jimmy was pulled from the shelter today. He is staying at my house. He is very healthy. He is up to date on all vaccines including rabies. He is neutered and I had him microchipped. He is HW negative. He had a bath and is plying nicely with Kito. My vet did not think he has kennel cough. He is a little scared of me and was really terrified of a collar being put on.
He is ready to go to his forever home whenever we find a good match.

Glad to see that Little Jimmy was pulled from the shelter and is in a foster home waiting adoption. 36 pounds is a little heavy for a Shiba Inu. He would need to go to a home that understands Shibas and canine diets. Otherwise he sounds like a terrific dog.
