Spring anyone????

Skaket Mar 02, 2010 05:06 PM

Has anyone seen spring? Katie wants to know. LOL She said that she's getting sick and tired of snow and cold. I pointed out to her that all our snow is almost gone but that didn't satisfy her.

Cheryl. I had a male robin at my window bird feeder a week or so ago. I'm wondering if he ever left for the winter. I've also seen a female robin. Last spring a pair of robins had a nest in this bush. I wonder if they're the same robins. Squeaker if very good about sharing HIS feeder. LOL

We have had Robins all Winter and they always look like they are frozen to death. I'll bet they head south next Winter.

We've had Cardinals all winter too, Gary. I always thought that they migrated. They were giving Squeaker some competition in my bird feeder this morning. LOL

We have had 4 pair of Cardinals, Robins, Doves, English Sparrows and a Chicken Hawk all Winter. I looked at the trees out by the railroad one day and there were 26 Turkey Buzzards in the trees and more down along thr railroad. Went down to the tracks but didn't see anything. May have been something over in the trees across the tracks.

Gary, I've seen some Robins as well. I also have a male and female Cardinal who are eating from Squeaker's food tray. He doesn't seem to mind. LOL I read where cardinals are a non-migratory bird which I didn't know. They built a nest in this bush last spring and I suspect that they will do the same this spring.

Nope the Cardimals don't migrate. We have also had Blue Jays all Winter. I was watcing TV the other day and glanced out the door and there was Peanut the squirrel looking in the door. I put some peanuts on the porch for him.

Peanut sounds like my Squeaker, my squirrel. He'll sit on the sill next to the window feeder and look in at me if the tray is near empty. I'll be taking the feeder down soon now that the snow is gone and more food is available. He loves the acorns that drop off the oak tree.

Been pretty Spring like around here the past few days and I can actually see grass and mud and the sun and temps in the 40's. What more could you ask for?

We're getting there too, Gary. While it hasn't really warmed up that much, the snow is gone so that's good. Heck, they've been trying to predict some snow for us the last few days but they finally gave up on it. Apparently, there was a system that they though would move in on us but it didn't

I am all for it...lol
Actually the last couple of days have been so beautiful. It was 64 degrees in Arkansas yesterday, and I am headed back to Ohio, it was 67 here in Kentucky today and so gorgeous out, I hated to be trapped in the van driving. Hope everyone else is enjoying the weather....
