Took Beni to Cornell for another recheck today and things are pretty much the same. The cataract has severely restricted Beni's sight. There is still something there but it's a relatively small field of vision. If not for that damn cataract.... sigh! The glaucoma has long been under control and those numbers were still very good. Beni is very much spirited and plays all of time but I have to be careful he doesn't go crashing into the walls. Outside now that the snow has been gone he happily jaunts across the yard... I think he has that mapped out pretty well and I keep looking around to make sure it safe so he doesn't go poking himself into something.

Despite the glaucoma, I'm so glad to read that Beni is in such good spirits. Your message brought a smile to me face as I imagined Beni's jaunty strut around your yard...jaunty is the word I always use to describe my little Queen of Shiba Kari.....I just LOVE my pups, and I know that you all feel the same way towards your beloved family members. Please keep those updates coming!

Oh, Beni, good to hear you are doing well. I really wish that cataract wasn't there, but you seem to be handling it well. I pray you have a long time with the vision you have left. Have a great Spring season! Enjoy the bunnies! (that is Abby's favorite prey)

So glad to hear Beni is still doing so good...sorry about the cataract but he will make it fine...they adjust I think it doesn't bother them as much as it worries us.

Everything is going well here...up to 47.4 lbs. 6 lbs. to go but I'm not sure he will get there this summer...too much running in the yard.

Wow! Winona that is great news! I was thinking of Asher the other day driving back from Cornell and wondering how he was getting on. I'll keep pulling for him to get those other 6 pounds!
