"Baby pictures" of landscaping

trudysmom Apr 22, 2010 02:21 PM

I took some pictures of the new landscaping today. The landscaper came to put in the trellis last night. He had it made to size for me. I didn't like the one he was going to use. It is metal, welded, then painted. The arch was already here.

We spent lots of money taking out two palm trees, yuck, sago palms and trimmed the rest that was here when we moved her.

Then we had a designer come and draw plans. I changed things a bit and then they came to take everything out, put good soil in and plant all of the new plants. Then lots of mulch.

We replaced the crazy palms with Savannah Hollys on either side of the arch.

There are many flowers and flowering scrubs. Azaleas, spireas, verbenas, hydrangeas, lorapedulum, penta, blue daze, roses, vines...I can't wait for the young plants to full in and bloom.

Mandalvilla vines are going to grow in the arch and Crossvine on the new trellis behind the arch.

Won't take long, it is warming up. 80 today.

Fred had done a lot of planting in front, lots of flowers. I need to get pics of them too.

We have been here for 7 months. We love the new house and the small yard is perfect for seeing from all of the windows. Lots of plants for butterflies and hummers too. We attract birds too. I don't know if I will ever garden again, so small is perfect. I am so happy to have a yard that is pretty again. Can't wait to see it grow up.

Sally, it really looks so nice I love the stone walk all around your house. That adds a touch I haven't seen in other yards. The people you hired did a great job. I know you will enjoy it.
