I just have to share this with you guys. When I give Max & Nicky a chew bone, they go to separate places to chew. After a while, Nicky will get up and go over to Max and bark at him. Well, Max gets up and comes over to me and Nicky grabs his chew bone and takes it to his spot and starts chewing Max's! So Nicky has both bones! LOL I go over and take the one he isn't chewing and give it to Max. After a while Nicky does the same thing again and Max is left without a bone again! LOL It is so funny to me how Max gives in to Nicky so easily. He never did with Charlee or Peaches. I think Max is in love with Nicky and has been since he first came here. Last night I went into the kitchen and Max followed me. When we went back into the other room, Nicky had stolen his bone and was laying on top of it so I couldn't take it away! LOL These guys just crack me up! Nicky also "hoards" all the toys. He plays with them and takes them under the dining room table like he is hiding them. What a little entertainer he is

That's funny, Phyl. Nicky must be the top dog in the house although you would think that it would be Max since he was there first. I use to worry about that when Katie's friend, Benji came in the house and went near Katie's chew bones but Katie could care less. Benji never picked one up though but he did check them out. Being on the safe side, I use to give Benji a bone to chew on also and all worked out well.

Poor Max. I am glad they love each other though and I guess that is the way of dogs that we cannot understand, the relationship means more than the stuff......for some it is beyond human comprehension......

Denice, I think because Max is getting so old now, he is turning over the "top dog" spot to Nick.
I totally agree that most people do not understand the pure love these precious babies have. I wish I could love their way.

The goats are like that too. I will give them their food and the top ones will gobble it down then go and eat the slower ones food. I have to separate, lock up and pull ears to get them apart sometimes.
