Lost Shiba Puppy - Cross Post

Kiricki May 05, 2010 08:25 PM

Dear Shiba Friends,
I placed a lovely 6 month old puppy in a companion home this past Sunday,
5/2/10. On Tuesday morning, 5/4/10, her new owner was tripped up on the
leash, took a terrible fall and the puppy took off like a bat out of hell
with collar & leash attached. The owner tried to follow after her, but had
to stop the pursuit to be taken to the hospital. Some neighbors, friends &
family started the search process immediately. Please help us to get the
word out.
If you live in the area any help in the way of foot searches, hanging
posters, etc…is welcome. You may contact the owner directly for coordination
(see contact info below). If not attached, an electronic copy of the “lost dog
flyer” is available by emailing me at:
_Capecodshibas@aol.com_ (mailto:Capecodshibas@aol.com)
Thank you in advance for your help.

Cape Cod Shibas
PERMISSION TO CROSSPOST GRANTED.
Keiko is a 6 month old red female Shiba Inu with white markings and a
little black ticking. (Looks like a fox or small Akita.) She is approximately
14 inches tall at the shoulder and weighs 14 lbs. She most likely will
not respond to her name, but may respond to Sweet Pea, Little girl or puppy
when spoken in a high pitched friendly voice.
She was last see at 6:45 AM at Bay Farm Complex on Bay Farm Rd. in
Duxbury, MA. She is wearing a red nylon martingale collar and leash with ID and
rabies tags. Both tags display owners home and cell phone telephone
numbers.
She was just relocated and is most likely very scared and skittish. She is
expected to be shy, so if she does not approach you, PLEASE DO NOT CHASE
and report any sighting immediately. If found please be aware that off
lead Shibas are not trustworthy to stay with you so do hold onto or secure in
a fenced or enclosed area.
If sighted or found please contact:
ANITA AT 781-934-0526 or 617-460-0344 or
Alt. contact: JILL at 781-582-3799 or 781-424-7822

Hi All,

Keiko the lost puppy in Duxbury, MA has been found unharmed and reunited with her owner. Thank you all for your prayers, and help from those who offered. Again, confirming that there is power in numbers and communication. Have to go....I'm at work and sneaking this note out to you all.

Sincerely,

Yep this was good news indeed! Keiko was a little messy after being loose for three days. She had actually gotten her leash wrapped around a tree and had tried chewing through it in a few places and had almost succeeded when the dog control officer arrived. The report now is Keiko isn't leaving her owners side!

Bob, may I cross post this to the SHIBA-L list? That is where I got the original notice.
