YAHOO EMAIL HIJACKED

iansmom Jul 15, 2010 02:12 PM

Hello all sometime last night my yahoo account bellivi5150@yahoo.com was hijacked. Somewhere in the middle of the night I jumped a plane and flew to Wales and was robbed and all credit cards and money was stolen BUT the robbers were nice enought to leave me my passport (which i don't even own a passport but whatever) so my friends can send money and I will be able to get back into the country. We are dealing with some very thoughtful Robbers.

Well I'm here to tell you that I am sitting my ass at my desk in San Bernardino california so do NOT send any money to anyone. Yahoo has locked down my e-mai account for 24 hours so if you need to contact me you can reach me at bellivi5150@charter.net.

Well Vickie you and I did lots of communicating this morning. I wasn't going to wire you money but was going to let you use my credit card but told you to call me. When I realized it was a scam I asked them to answer some questions that you would know but they would not. Didn't hear from them again.

Yes Mrs Witt I'll bet we did a lot of communicating. From what I understand it will cost me $1300.00 to get home from Wales and the "easiest" way to send the money would be western union. So I have a couple people responding to this person to see if we can get something from him/her with regards to their western union account. My facebook has also been shut down do it is my feeling that he/she got to me via facebook because I use the yahoo account for sign in. What a freaking mess. Hey I'll take any money you guys want to send me.

I thought it a bit odd that you would be in Wales with your "family". But you did seem so very desperate. Then when I got the request to send you money at a WU near Heathrow where you were staying, I found that pretty odd since Heathrow is obviously not in Wales. And since they wouldn't let you leave the hotel I started getting a little concerned at the whole thing. Of course I figured dear ole Robert would have some insight.

The only way I got rid of him is when I asked him about my first PH, and where it came from and who was his grandmother. He really must have started scratching his head and figured it was't worth it as this person was a nutcase.

To establish Vickie's identity, I would have asked, "What Pittsburgh Steeler caught the "immaculare rececption" in the 1972 AFL divisional title game.

And Greg I would have given this answer....Michael Vick

The Immaculate Reception is the nickname given to one of the most famous plays in the history of American football. It occurred in the AFC divisional playoff game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Oakland Raiders at Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on December 23, 1972. Late in the game, after Frenchy Fuqua, a Pittsburgh half back, collided with Raiders Safety Jack Tatum as he tried to make a catch, Pittsburgh running back Franco Harris caught the deflected football just before it hit the ground, and ran in for a touchdown that won the game for the Steelers.
NFL Films has chosen it as the greatest play of all time, as well as the most controversial. The play was a turning point for the Steelers, who reversed four decades of futility with their first playoff win ever, and went on to win four Super Bowls by the end of the decade. The phrase was first used on air by Myron Cope, a Pittsburgh sportscaster who was reporting on the Steelers' victory. A Pittsburgh woman, Sharon Levosky, called Cope the night of the game and suggested the name, which was coined by her friend Michael Ord. Cope used the term on television and the phrase stuck.

no i'm not that good, i wiki'ed it

Patric you don't say. Honey I knew that I was just being a smart ass with the Vic comment. To this day they are still not sure who that ball bounced off before Harris caught it. Frenchy said he was taking that secret to his grave.

**I got the plea for help. Wrote back that if they wanted me to believe it was Vickie ... then they needed to learn to talk like Vickie**

That seemed to be the general consensus as to the content of the e-mail. I'm really not a "writing this with tears in my eyes" kind of gal especially after just being robbed.(Poor Phisher is still traumatized over the Wales ordeal)

If I authored that e-mail I would have expressed my displeasure with the lack of embassy and law enforcement involvement with extremely colorful adjectives. Anyone that knows me would have figured it out after reading the first line.

churuka Jul 16, 2010 12:15 AM

Vickie, I can imagine the guy trying to mug you would have gotten the worst end of the deal, you are no shrinking violet and it did seem a bit over the top that you had tears in your eyes, but then people react differently under real stress. I just felt bad for your predicament and figured I'd offer whatever help I could. Just glad I didn't send you my card number, but I did give you my phone number to call me so now he has my phone number.

>>Hello all sometime last night my yahoo account

Andy has had something similar hit his yahoo e-mail account. He got yahoo to purge it once, but it would appear to be back again, so if anyone gets strange e-mails from his account please ignore them until he can get yahoo to do the fix again.

BTW, like you, I suspect facebook. He's on it--I'm not...and now I know why I never quite trusted this whole social networking thing.
