Two days of lure coursing in CA in the HEAT...

Since I was lure operating BIF yesterday, my boy was not able to run for BIF.

I was totally bummed today that for the BIF flight he was in, Phorest drew the Whippet and the Sloughi who were running like crazy rhis weekend.

I decided I would pull Phorest from BIF, as it was very hot and the other two dogs were burning up the course.

After a brief consult with Vickie Belitto (fresh back from overseas), I decided to let him run.

Imagine my surprise when Phorest left the two others standing at the line...I knew when he PASSED the Sloughi on the straighaway that that course was his.

The dogs in the second run couldn't surpass what Phorest had done in the first flight and today my little man (inching ever closer to the record for our breed) was awarded his TWELFTH BEST IN FIELD.

With a big nod to Aunt Vickie for making sure Phorest got his shot at it today

Run, Phorest Run.

HUGE CONGRATS!! 12 BIF!! What is the PH record?? Stepper had close to 20 if memory serves...any answers??

Stepper holds the record with 15 total BIFS - 4 AKC and 11 ASFA

With Phorest, I am NOT counting his National win nor his back-to-back Best of the Best Turkey Run Continuum BIFS, as they were all specialties. If those were added, Phorest would be at 15 now...

Phorest has 10 AKC All breed BIFS and 2 ASFA all breed BIFS

Not sure he will make it to Stepper's record, but he seems determined to give it a shot. Since I have been threatened with bodily injury from Pam if we break the record, I'm not sure I WANT to...

If I were you, I would be afraid...very afraid of Pam!!! You could always tie Steppers record tho and I don't think she would be too upset about that...vbg!

Had the honor of running with Stepper many times at Lompoc..ah, the good ole days..he was a tough wirey little guy with a heart the size of Texas. When you beat him....and I did once or twice, you knew that in it's own way, was as good as a BIF!!

Good luck...but keep one eye out for Pam!!
