Funny how a dog that is below their standard for breeding would be offered to be sold as breeding stock. I also noticed the ears are soft, or they appear to be soft.

I thought the same things. Plus with soft ears at 10 mos how could you considering the dog breeding stock when only time will tell if the ears are going to come up. Not likely in my experience.

It looks like he is no longer available. I hope the breeder got wind of the ad and contacted these people.

I contacted Ms. Hayden through the FB email function to find out if she knew about this dog being sold on ebay. She does. Apparently the dog did not turn out -- he has a bad front so she and the current owner "Willy" decided that he should be found a new home as he wasn't suitable for breeding. I questioned her about this as it appeared to me the dog was being sold for breeding stock. She responded to me that neither she nor Willy believe in neutering but that she had asked him to reword his ad to remove references to breeding with this dog.

Willy is getting two more dogs from Ms. Hayden in the near future.

IU agree with you Mariah and I feel bad for the poor dog. I hope he finds a great home with people that will appreciate him for who he is and not what he can do for their alleged breeding program.

Ms. Hayden has asked Willy to neuter the dog before placing him and he has agreed to do so since he has another dog coming from her in the future.

So it seems this might end up okay.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on this Theresa. I'm glad to hear the dog will be neutered and hopefully a proper home will be found. Sounds like breeder and owner are doing the right thing.

***Since the dog came from NSW, the quarantine laws alone would make it almost impossible for him to be returned to his breeder without spending lengthy time in the quarantine facility.

Having once been seriously into the process of moving and possibly emigrating to Australia I can validate the severity and major limitations of bringing things into Australia. (I regained my senses just in time.) It is probably the most restrictive country in the world in this regard.

For instance NO feathers can be admitted and any vehicles and boats have to be cleaned to the point of sterilization. This was some time ago so maybe the laws are looser now, but I doubt it.

They do have good reasons for strictness.

Is she saying she does believe in overpopulation, euthanasia and abandonment?

She has since asked the owner to neuter the dog before placing him in a home. I have been having long email conversations with her and she absolutely does not want this dog cross-bred with other breeds and does not feel he is suitable for breeding with another PH either.

hell, even after OUR last planned litter beth had me "fixed" to prevent an unplanned litter. so why wouldn't you do that with a dog not up to someones breeding standards?

I believe the original ad indicated Wailuku which google says is on Maui.
