Update to Fox

Well luckily we have not seen the fox again. I am hopeful that he moved on to better hunting grounds. I did call animal control, my town office and DEC. All were of no help at all. All they did was give me a number for a trapper that I would have to pay for to come out and take care of the fox. Gotta love NY..... And where does all my tax money go to?? Ok I wont go any further down that road lol. For now we are keeping a watchful eye and if we see him again we will call the police dept and see if they can help us. My towns police department are really top notch I wouldnt be surprised if they have a solution to help us.

I'm glad you aren't seeing the fox anymore. Beware though, foxes seem to have a set territory and it may just have varied it's route a bit..........or maybe someone shot it?! We used to have a fox in our neighborhood. We would see it, trotting up the street, just about every morning. Once, it was carrying a rabbit. Then, we just stopped seeing it. That was at a time when there were coyote concerns in the area, so maybe it became dinner for one of those. We've not seen a coyote in many years, but a neighbor saw one running up the street, about a year ago. We never, ever, allow Murphy to go out in the yard alone after dark. We have a can of mace, a large very bright spotlight, and just hope we could protect him, if necessary. Our fence is 6 feet high, so maybe they will try easier places to hunt!
