Finding a Holisitc Vet

WolfSpirit292 Aug 16, 2010 08:56 PM

Don't get me wrong, my vets are very knowledgable and wonderful people. There is a reason I drive about 35-40 mins to their office. However, having learned much more about holisitc and natural treatments, this is the path I have chosen to follow. Having a Cattle Dog with severe allergies is what set me on the course. I really want to do more with the holistic side of things, but to do that I really need to find a vet that is either totally a holistic vet or is really supportive of that type of thing.

Is there a good source to search for Holistic vets in the area?
Does anyone have any personal recommendations for holistic vets around Warren, OH?

The American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association has a directory of holistic veterinarians on its website at AHVMA.org. This directory lists locations, modalities, and species treated. All the veterinarians listed are members of the organization, but the list does not note how much holistic medicine they practice or what percentage of their practice is actually holistic, so you need to ask questions of anyone you call.
