Dog vaccination

yellowcrystals1 Sep 11, 2010 01:06 PM

We have chosen, after much research, to skip on vaccinating our dog. We recently moved to a new city and are planning on going out of town for a week to visit back home, which means we have to kennel her. The don't allow un-vaccinated dogs in any facility in this state, and the requirements are Bordatella, DHPP and Rabies for most places. Are there any herbal or homeopathic remedies that will help alleviate an adverse reaction in our dog? She will be a year next month. Thank you!

First, check with your state veterinarian to see if vaccinations are a legal requirement for boarding kennels. Rabies vaccination is required in all states, except possibly Hawaii. I suspect other vaccines are rules of each boarding kennel to limit their liability in case of a contagious disease. The state veterinarian has no vested interest in the matter, so while he or she may strongly recommend vaccinations, he or she will tell you if that is a legal requirement. I have used homeopathic nosodes in place of conventional vaccinations, and these have always been accepted. I provide a certificate along with the nosodes stating that this animal has been immunized against certain diseases. If a vaccination is needed, as well as when a rabies vaccine is given, I give a combination of homeopathic remedies which greatly lowers the incidence of side effects from the vaccines.
