Cape Cod National

Mirage Sep 22, 2010 06:36 PM

The flight arrived back in San Francisco last night (after a less than fun time at Logan) and the bags are (mostly) unpacked. Ruadh is quietly sleeping and I'm off work until tomorrow morning.

So I thought it was time to do a round of virtual applause for the National 2010 (and the Eastern 2010).

I want to thank everyone that worked on the weekend both before and during the actual events -- I had a wonderful time and I think the organizers did an amazing job! If you weren't able to come, maybe you can make it next year in Ohio

Participants were also a great part of the weekend and I enjoyed spending time with everyone but particularly those people that I only see occasionally or whom I just met this year. Of course, there is never enough time but there is always next year!

I agree. Much applause in order. Theresa I really enjoyed meeting and chatting with you as well as some others from the West Coast. Will we be seeing you at Westminster?

I won't be at Westminster this coming year but I might the next. Ruadh is a little young for me to want to enter her -- she is just over 2 years old -- and I understand it is less than fun getting in and out of NYC some years!

I agree completely. We finally got the drive home completed Wednesday night but it was worth every mile! All the events were well organized and open to all. The committee did an awesome job. The host hotel had lots of grass for exercising the dogs. The arrangements with the all-breed clubs were great - our own ring, close shaded parking and the meeting/banquet room right there. Even the coursing field was very close. The decorations for the banquets were great in full Cape Cod theme. All the little extras made it even better.
It was great to see and/or meet everybody that was there. It was a thrill to see such a large entry in that lovely outdoor setting. The weather was perfect. Of course, my favorites were all the dogs and their owners in the obedience and rally rings!
Thanks to all who put this National together and all that came to make an exciting Pharaoh Weekend.

Wasn't that show ring amazing???? Our own ring...located so perfectly....that had the be the nicest show arrangement in terms of ring location that I've ever experienced! Kudos to Stephen and his crew for all of the amazing work that they did. I was also really impressed with the caterers for those two dinnahs! Wondering if they'll come to our house and prepare those meals for us every week!?! LOL

It's was super to see you, Sheila and Lew, and I hope you return to the Cape soon!

Best wishes,
Rebecca

Dear Theresa,
Getting back to work after a specialty is just soooo difficult. I remember attending my first Western, there at Lompoc, and leaving it feeling as though I had been in this unbelievable zone of enchantment...it took days/weeks for my feet to touch the ground again. I'm soooo relieved that your flight home went okay. I know that it is always a concern for everyone whenever flying a dog, so this is terrific that it went smoothly. Congratulations on Ruadh's (dang, I hope I spelled that correctly) wonderful showing at the events. We very much look forward to your return trip to the Cape...there is SO much mo' to see and do!
Best wishes,
Rebecca
