First of all, CONGRATULATIONS to Stephen, Dominic, Liza, and all of those who helped to make the 2010 National/Eastern/Supported Entry shows and events such a success! I know that sooooooooo much commitment, energy, time, planning, knowledge, and experience goes into developing, planning, coordinating, and overseeing such a series of events, and you all did a really masterful job. From the logo (Wow, Darlene!) to the trophies to the cakes (Wow, Jan!) to the performance events (Wow, Julie!) to the raffles/auctions (Wow, Dominic!) to the many, many other aspects and details that made it all come together, it was indeed what appeared to be a really terrific five days. What a wonderful level of participation and entries!
Secondly, an enormous and very heartfelt THANK YOU to Meredith Wille, Marie Henke, Pam Haig, Jan Swayze-Curry, Jane Hodnett, and others who helped to make the CHIC clinics a reality. Meredith was absolutely masterful in handling the blood draws, and it was a real act of love on her part to be available for so many times so that folks could come and have the blood draws done at their convenience. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for all that you did, CHICmeisters! There was a very strong response to the CHIC clinic offerings, and more than 15 dogs participated.
We are so grateful for the support of the newly designated CHIC fund that is being established with the PHCA. THANK YOU and CONGRATULATIONS to both Sheila Hoffman and Pam Haig, who were the unbelievably generous and supportive bidders for the CHIC mixed-media art quilt that was offered to raise funds for CHIC. That you will BOTH be owners of art quilts (the artist is creating a second one), and that the CHIC fund will now have such a significant foundation, is amazing, and it is all thanks to you, Sheila and Pam. Again, THANK YOU!!!!!
While circumstances prevented Marge and me from being at the events for as long as we would have liked to have been (we experienced a trainwreck of scheduling and unfortunate timing...grrrrrrrrrrr...sick dog, sick car, sick human, it was beginning to feel quite surreal for a while there), it was fantastic to be there when we could be, and we enjoyed our Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday there, watching gorgeous red dogs and catching up with folks. It's always wonderful to see everyone--we most definitely think of so many of you as our extended p-hound family, and there is always a bit of magic in the specialties.
Best wishes to all for a wonderful autumn!
Rebecca and Margie
