Beardie Nesting Substrate.....?

Heather Oct 11, 2003 09:44 AM

I think on of My Beardie Girls has infertile eggs. I got her a nesting box but I don't know what to put in it. Vermiculite? Sand? Dirt? Plan on setting her up with it tomorrow. Also, Is it ok for her tank mate (another girl) to stay with her? Thanks for any replies.

I use a 50/50 of peat dirt and sand. Your beardie needs to be able to dig a hole and not have it collapse.
Do you mean keep her cage mate with her in the nesting box? If so, no. She needs to lay eggs alone.

***Put a clamp light on her nesting box.

I'm gonna put the box inside their house. Can I leave the other female in the same house or do I have to remove her?
