Im not having the best of times with the colllareds just now,it would seem that mites are more deadly than i thoughtFirst up was scorpio,he was seriously dehydrated and not eating,i forcefed him emergency feed and water but it took 3 days for him to recover, hes alright now but i got up to find odin had died from something or other, all i know is that he had mites bad and that he may have stopped drinking his water,im not sure because iwas preocuppied with scorpioNow if all that wasnt enough i got up today to find blizzards got the shakes big time, strangely he is the healthiest of them all,i must be doing something wrong somewhere, this year hasnt been good atall as far as the collareds are concerned.I may give them up as i dont seem to be able to provide for them properlyI love these little guys and would be very sad to see them go but i dont want to see them suffer at my hands.Blizzard is fine in every other respect, hes alert, his coordination is fine and hes eating and drinking fine.good news is the mites are gone but theyve caused alot of damage.oh,eve my fiancee had a baby girlwe called her Elle and yeah she loves the collareds

So sorry to hear all your troubles with the collareds. I told ya you should have used the stuff I was going to send ya, remember, it was good. Anyway, Seems odd that mites would have killed odin, that fast. Sorry he was a pretty boy! Sure it was not just something else? If you have the mite situation under control as in GONE. Temps are right, feeding right, proper lighting, you should be okay! Don't give up, as you did buy a few that were very skinny and boney! Sometimes it is difficult to bring them aound Jason. (for anybody) Blizzard the one with the shakes, sounds like it could be(only an opinion) a calcuim deficiency. Maybe if you increase the dusting on his bugs abit for awhile, it may help. Natural sunlight would be good, but I know where you are it may be impossible this time of season. A good uvb light !

Good to hear from you, hope all goes your way from now on and they all improve. Stick around. God Bless ya all and your new daughter Ellie, thats very pretty! PICS!!!!! ;0 Eve

While I am not a vet, the 'shakes' can be a sign of early MBD. I have had one display that when I first got him, and he turned around quickly with some calcium supplementation. You may need to look over the UVB source you are using, to make sure its close enough to the preferred basking area and LOW enough to be in the bulb's usefull range. Also, the age of the UVB bulb is important, as the coating which produces the UVB component in the spectrum degrades rather quickly in most bulbs, although the light may still look bright. Most brands recommend replacement every 6 months to one year. For an emergency calcium supplement, you can use calcium gluconate or one of the commercially prepared drops such as T-Rex 'Bone-Aid'. Sorry to hear about all the problems!

i was just sharing my problems, lol.not many people on here seem to have problems, lolAnyway u gotta take the good with the bad eh?I am gonna get a new UVB bulb as i never thought about how old it is(1year old)Ive dealt with MBD before,i bought a waterdragon who had it bad and i also have a leo who had it too(see a pattern forming)I guess im a glutton for trying to help the little critters out,but i do hate failure and i guess this year ive failed a couple of times, maybe they were too far gone or maybe it was me,either way whats happened has happened. The rest of the gang are good though, all eating and drinking and generally learning to fly, hahahahhahaha.Hey eve did u make forum moderator, coz if yah did well [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep],thought id save yah the effort of bleeping out my sweary words, hahahahahha, just because thats how im feeling.Oh and i saw yah pic in the users profiles, and ive only got 1 thing to say-cher?maybe,:P
