Zane Grey Oct. 5th

Tetreault Oct 05, 2010 12:02 PM

I spoke to the clinic this morning 10/5/10 10:30 a.m. CT.

Zane Grey will stay at the vet's clinic a few more days. He is doing okay, but they feel it is in his best interest to stay there. I agree, as I have my hands full right now. Two bitches in heat, one going out soon and the other just know getting ready for the thunder!

Zane Grey is an intact male and is 4 1/2 years of age. Although I think he would be able to come home and I could deal with it at this point, I believe with the girls in heat, he would be better off at the clinc. Once things have settled down here, I hope to have him back.

I will try an post a photo of him this week. Keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

Linda - I think you made the right decision. A dog in a cast is difficult to handle under ideal conditions and you don't have that right now.

I remember having to sleep on the floor with Finnegan when he was in a cast (front leg) and getting clobbered with it when he thrashed around in his sleep. Being with him and having his leash attached to me was the only way to control him at night - he thought he was just fine and could run around, use the dog door and stick his cast in the water bucket if he wanted to. I put him in day care at the vet's until the cast came off so I could go to work - he certainly could not be left to his own devices.

Good luck - Sam

Glad to hear he is doing well. I'm sure you and he will be glad when the time is right for him to come home.

Sounds like a smart decision. Positive healing thought coming Zane's way. Hope your man comes home to you soon.

Linda,

So glad this is looking like all will be well in time. I shudder to think of the panic and fear when they got out, the worry while searching, the gratitude for help, and then the worry of waiting to know if Zane Grey will be okay. Ugh...

And of course life goes on with work and everything else making it even more of a challenge. Rough time. Hang in there. And again, very glad it looks like Zane Grey will be okay in time.
