Anyone else entering the UKC Gateway Nationals @ Purina Farms in St. Louis, MO?
They have some exciting new things going on. They are offering SIX conformation shows (2 a day) on Friday, Sat, Sun for $75.00 per dog. They are also offering Altered classes as a regular licensed class now as well. Yes that is right, your altered pharaoh CAN earn a show championship title. (They will still be judged to the standard and faults are still faults.) Rally and obedience will be offered too.
Also the United Greyhound Club is holding in addition to the other six shows which are multi-breed; a sighthound only specialty (Licensed ALTERED offered in this show as well) on Friday evening and three days of UKC coursing. The price on this is 20.00 for the first dog or entry and 15.00 for each additional dog or entry. So if your dog enters the specialty show and three days of coursing it would be 65.00 and each additional hound would be 60.00. They will hold judging to not conflict with coursing.
This is important for as many people to show up to UKC shows holding coursing because right now coursing is considered a companion event and is not eligible for the Total Dog award. (go to www.ukcdogs.com to read the rules for Total Dog eligibility). UKC wants to see if there is enough interest in conformation and coursing held on the same day. Once there is enough interest, then they will decide to make it a Total Dog sport.

I am entering Uber in the Grand Champions class, Lala in the Champions class and Atreyu in the Altered Adult class. All three will also be doing all three days of coursing as well.
