substrate in new viv?

ive just bought my 4month female a 3foot viv(which when taking up stairs i managed to smash a sliding door..so i'll be getting a new one cut)shes been on repti carpet(the astro turf stuff) previously, but im thinking of changing now shes in a bigger viv,which is more of a show viv,so what do you recommend?thanks

Hi. We have two pythons and we use indoor/outdoor carpet. Got it Home Depot. It is much cheaper than retile carpet and smoother than the astro turf. Also so much easier to clean. We got a real big piece and cut several inserts for each tank. That way when one gets dirty, you always have a spare.

I use, and highly recommend, compressed coconut fiber. It comes in either a small disc (size of hockey puck), or a brick. Very sterile, and safe for the snake to digest in the event he swallows some.
