Update on Murphy Mystery

First, thanks so much to everyone for all the great input. I really appreciated it, and thoughtfully considered each and every suggestion.

It's been a week since we began the evening RRR - Rescue Remedy Ritual, and we are doing pretty well. Most nights, he simply looks apprehensive- wide eyes and ears sharply up, without panting or trembling. He usually will come up and sit with us for awhile. We talk cheerfully, pet him, but mostly keep on reading or watching TV. It's funny, because I can see him, from the corner of my eye, watching me closely to see if I am concerned about anything. After while, he will relax and cuddle down for a bit of a nap and then in half hour or so, jump down and go find another place to rest/sleep.

We've thought, long and hard, about all the posssible causes.......not the furnace coming on, as it goes on and off all day and evening. Nothing in house that is making an unusual noise. He has no problems with going outside, but will sometimes stand and look toward that neighbors house for awhile. As for going and talking to them, I am still unsure about this. They've been there for a couple of years now and keep very much to themselves. What would I be expecting them to do.......stop using their equipment? We've pretty much decided to continue with RR for another couple of weeks and see how he does, maybe decreasing the amount he gets....4 drops, 3 drops, 2 drops, 1 drop, gradually. He's not miserable, like he was, just a bit concerned. We're still hoping he's going to adjust to it.

I don't like it, but I'm trying hard........really I am!
