Update on Murphy

Kiricki Dec 04, 2010 12:34 PM

Just a quick update on Murphy. You'll recall he was having problems in the evenings.........trembling, panting, etc. We put him on a daily dose of Rescue Remedy, approximately an hour before this had been happening. For the first couple of days, he still seemed apprehensive, but much improved. As the days went by, he became more and more relaxed and we gradually decreased the dosage. He's been off it for over a week now and everything is fine. We have no idea whether what was bothering him is still happening and he's realized it won't hurt him, or if our neighbor, who we thought might have some electronic musical equipment that was emitting a sound we couldn't hear, has made some sort of adjustments that stopped the sound. Whatever, it's nice to have our happy boy back again!

Thanks to all who made suggestions. They were very much appreciated!

Glad it got resolved one way or another. Those odd shiba behaviors that can be so random. I recall a few years back the sound of a child's toy drove Kita absolutely manic as well as a sound on a kid's TV show (Benny the Cow from Dora hiccuping). Gotta love our sensitive pups.

Yes, it really is strange. For the past few months, Murphy has disliked the vacuum cleaner. He doesn't get shaky or anything, just looks very disapproving and stays away from the person using it. He's just gonna have to adjust on this one!

Sure wish I could talk to you about this, Mom!
