Not sure exaclty why the family decided to once again foster a Shiba, but I guess it's that time of year- to help others in need. Our favorite was tends to be towards the canine kind.
This new one is not fitting in quite as well as the previous foster. First, I forgot how amped up a stressed shiba is able to get. Second, I forgot how much energy a young shiba has. She's a sweet girl overall, but Kita's opinion of her is she should be buried deep in the back yard and she'll gladly take care of that for me. Isn't she so nice and helpful? Taiko wants nothing to do with the interloper. The other problem is this girl has probably been crated 95% of her life so although she's good in a crate overall, she has no skills outside of a crate. Thankfully she's brilliant and picks up on things fast and wants to do thing right. She's just never been shown how. I think her previous owners used a crate as a time out, but forgot to ever bring her back out to learn how to be good and settle when not in a crate.
So once again my house is nuts this holiday season which is fine because I have some vacation time I need to use and life wasn't crazy enough with 2 kids, husband, 2 dogs, a cat, reptiles, etc etc...
Hope everyone has a great holiday season.
