Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to add a few thoughts to what Andy has already posted. Of course, I too am extremely proud of our handsome Mr. Rory and am delighted that he has finally earned his confirmation title. He’s a wonderful, sweet dog, and we feel so blessed that he has graced our home and our lives.
With that in mind, there are a couple of additional folks I’d specifically like to thank in addition to those Andy’s already mentioned:
- Sarah Kerridge, who guided us through our initial investigation of the breed , answered our gazillion questions, oh, and who happened to know a really good breeder
.
- Our neighbors down here in Orange, Robert and John, who took the time to show us the first Pharaoh Hounds we had ever seen up close and personal, and who repeatedly and patiently helped us through the trials of raising a PH puppy.
- And finally my beloved Andrew. We never imagined when he brought him home from Washington that we’d be wanting to show Rory, but when Sarah and Emily suggested we try it, it was Andy who rose to the challenge. From a total novice in Pomona, where Rory won his first point, to finishing him in Puyallup this last Saturday—who could imagine that you’d make that fabulous journey. Way to go Andy!
There are many more of you out there in our wonderful Pharaoh Hound community, both on-line and in person who also deserve thanks. Every one of you have been helpful, supportive, and ever ready to lend a hand. Many of you have grown to be more than just dog show acquaintances and have become real friends, and for that I am especially grateful.
I’ll just add one more thought before this turns into too much of an Academy Awards show acceptance speech: It say something wonderful, I think, about our breed—that it gathers such good people to it.
