Two more casualties I'm so depressed.

brdfreak Oct 11, 2003 11:54 AM

A friend fed the lil guys for me as I went out of town for the night and he fed them the crickets from the adult beardies cricket cage. I told him NOT to use that cage to feed the babies to use the smaller crix and he got confused appearantly.
That's 4 out of 14 that have passed on. I'm so depressed. I should never have left someone inexperienced like that to care for them. I just thought that since I physically showed him which crix to feed who it'd be OK. I'm gonna get a necropsy on them too just to make sure that it was the large prey items that did it and not the bacteria or whatever it was on the other 2.
I feel like such a bad daddy. Well at least OU is gonna kick the crap out of Texas today. That will boost my spirits some!

Argh!! What a needless thing to have happen. Not your fault though.
When I leave, I put sticky notes on everything..might help if there's a next time.

sounds like your friend is a not very bright. Most people would remember small crickets for small dragons, large crickets for large dragons.

Sorry to hear about the loss, maybe the necrosy will indicate they didn't die from eating too large of pray items.

with the having a necropsy to give you a for sure answer.

It's hard to lose them at any age, adults you ahve known and come to love so much of hatchling that are so endearing.
