This is the day my Beni first came into my life 6 years ago. My husband wanted a dog for a while, but I was very hesitant - too busy with work. How could I give more when I already was so emotionally swamped as it was???? Well, when I got home from a very active, loud, fun-filled, hands on, extremely tiring day of Valentine's I was greeted at the door with the comment,"You're never gonna believe what I did," ...I immediately said, "You got a dog." When I walked in, with my guard up, my Beni quietly rounded the corner... and I saw the most sensitive, unsure, inquisitive, handsome eyes, and, at that moment I knew he saved me. He saved me from thinking my job was my life and that everything was based on what could be accomplished next. My pups, Beni, and Kari, helped me appreciate living life, walking, smelling, listening, feeling....enjoying and appreciating life. And for that I can honestly say that this is officially one of my "Gotcha Days"!
