My Beni

touvellep Feb 14, 2011 08:30 PM

This is the day my Beni first came into my life 6 years ago. My husband wanted a dog for a while, but I was very hesitant - too busy with work. How could I give more when I already was so emotionally swamped as it was???? Well, when I got home from a very active, loud, fun-filled, hands on, extremely tiring day of Valentine's I was greeted at the door with the comment,"You're never gonna believe what I did," ...I immediately said, "You got a dog." When I walked in, with my guard up, my Beni quietly rounded the corner... and I saw the most sensitive, unsure, inquisitive, handsome eyes, and, at that moment I knew he saved me. He saved me from thinking my job was my life and that everything was based on what could be accomplished next. My pups, Beni, and Kari, helped me appreciate living life, walking, smelling, listening, feeling....enjoying and appreciating life. And for that I can honestly say that this is officially one of my "Gotcha Days"!

Happy Gotcha Day Beni! I would say this would be one of the best Valentine gifts a person could get. I do believe these dogs have a calming effect relating to our everyday stress. Nice story Patty!

Hi Bob,
I'm not sure if I wrote about this before (too many things going on on in peabrain), but Your Beni and You were the reasons I found this Forum. I was looking through the www for shiba's named Beni....and.......Voila! There he was, and I have loved being part of this forum ever since. Once I backtrack to figure out the date this happened we'll have another "Gotcha Day!"

We just picked up Murphy from his usual Wednesday play day, at PetsMart. He goes in the morning, takes along his lunch, and dinner, and stays til after we've had our dinner out. It's our play day, too, and we often see a movie, shop, or take mountain drives. It's a fun day for all of us!

I sure love seeing all my pals every week, Mom!

Hi Anne, Bill, and Murphy,
Wednesdays sound definitiley Wonderful for all in your household - a play day for Murphy and a "play day" for the humans - everything we all need to feel like "pups" again! Thanks for the update!

Hi Anne, Bill, and Murphy,
Thank you for your kind words!
Good luck struck three times in my house. The first for having a husband who, at the right time and at the right moment, was sensitive/perceptive enough to find a pup that needed us as much as we needed him. Second, for making that pup Beni, and last but Definitely not Least, Kari, My Queen.....what more can I say?

Thank you!
Every day is like another fun, crazy, boring, odd, puppy-filled, slow, magical, smell- filled, stubborn, smiling, waggy- tailed, calm, exciting day....BUT no matter what - each day is always a memorable one with these 2 whippersnappers!
