New Red Tegu....A couple questions.

oleander Oct 11, 2003 03:49 PM

Just got a red tegu and it is about 8 months old. I put it in my 125 gallon tank and it has cyprus mulch mixed with sand and top soil as the substrate. My question is that the substrate is rather damp (got it from franks nursery and crafts). I just want to see if it being damp is a problem?

Not at all. The humidity actually increases activity level as it simulates the rainy season. My argentine loves burrowing in damp substrate, too!
