Since I've jumped in and started posting I thought maybe I should tell y'all a little about myself. I live in Alabama and have 8 ferrets and a cat. I've had ferrets a little over 5 years and am on the board of directors of a ferret shelter. I keep the books, write our educational materials, and do the blood draws for ADV testing. Shelter Mom can't bring herself to do it. I also do what I can to help with fundraising so that we can keep the shelter open. I guess that's enough about me for now. **waves to everyone**

Hi back! I've only been here a few weeks myself. I belong to a ferret shelter too, but I'm only a member. I do volunteer work there, but it's not as often as I would like to. I've had a total of 9 ferrets since 87. The last 7 I have adopted from our shelter. Right now I have 2 girls, Jasmine and Daffodil aka Daffy. I am hoping to get 2 more soon. I just lost my youngest girl in early July, and I want my 2 older ones to have a companion...plus I would love more! I just have to convice hubby that 2 more would be better than one more.
Glad to see you here!

I'm sorry about your little one. I lost one in June and another in July. It's been a rough summer. I have an 8 yr. old with adrenal & insulinoma so I know she won't be with me much longer either.

Wow!!! I thought my 4 ferrets were a lot!!! I adopted my first two from Last Chance Ferret Rescue and the third was from the SPCA, he was covered in poop and ear wax and was found wandering the street. They didnt even clean him up and tried to convince me that he was a she, LOL!!! My fourth I didnt adopt because I had to have an Angora so I bought him.

LOL After having been up to 10, 4 would be a breeze. I actually had to trade in my Saturn and buy an SUV so I can take them on vacation with me. I like to take them to Panama City to dig in the sand every now and then. They love it.
