december 04 was when i got simon and bo, my boy and girl ferrets. from babies just a few weeks old they grew up together and now they are almost a year old. just last month i brought home a new baby boy- felix. it took a while but now they love felix and play together instead of beat each other up. felix lives in his own cage until im sure they do fine all the time. play time is still supervised. before felix came along simon and bo were always together playing. for a short while all 3 playd together well. im just starting to notice bo, the girl, is being left out. she seems bored now, just slowly walking around, laying down sometimes. the boys are constantly tumbling and wrestling. i feel so bad for her, im trying to give her more atention because i dont think i can handle 4 ferrets. have the boys banned the girl from their games?

I had the same problem so I got 4. For this I think 4 is the perfect number of ferrets as opposed to 3.

I agree about 4 being the perfect number. Ferrets are just like people in groups! They tend to pair off. Haven't you ever found yourself the third wheel? Just remember, 2's company, 3's a crowd... so just get two 2's or bump down 1. If there are 4 then partners may rotate and things will never be boring, that's for sure! And boy will you have a handful

thanks for the replys. i cant quite a aford another girl right now unless i find one in the papers or something. im in the middle of buying a lot of other things. once im done im gonna get number 4. i do still see my girl playing with the boys sometimes but most of the time shes trying to play and they run away or she just gives up and goes and hides. it makes me pretty sad and i feel bad for her. she will even go back in her cage and go to sleep. iv been trying to give her more atention but i can tell shed rather play with a ferret, im not nearly as fun.
