Sore on paw of Ferret wtih Adrenal Disease

jeffferret Nov 10, 2005 10:14 PM

Hi. My boy has AD. He's 6.5 and other than hair loss, he seems fine, the AD is not slowing him down. For this reason, my vet and I have decided to let the AD go untreated for now.

BUT now we have another problem. He has a round bump on his hind paw a little bigger than a pea. It's mostly red with some black in it too. And just tonight it was bleeding just a bit. It's possible he was picking at it too.

Has anybody ever heard of this? Is it related to the AD or something separate? I'm calling our vet tomorrow. Thanks.

It's probably a mast cell tumor. They usually go away on their own but if it persists you may want to have it removed.
