Bleeding Noses?

bob_the_snowman Jun 12, 2003 08:54 PM

My sister has two gerbils, we used to have a normal hamster cage for them until thye started chewing it all apart, so we bought them a 10 gallon tank. They both have bloody noses all the time and I've been putting on polysporin on it and I dont know what to do?
Any suggestions?

Change the litter to a paper based one or use plain paper tissues and napkins. It might be an allergy, gerbil mucus is red.
Cedar and pine causes allergies.
