I have (..had) 2 Gerbils and they both got to nearly 3 and a half years old (ancient gerbies!) i went to the cage one day to find one of them had 'exploded' :*-( there was a big mess and lots of bits of gerbie insides in the tank.....can anyone give me some reason as to why this would have happened??

Nothing could get to her at all! - certainly not enough to do that kind of damage... I wondered if it might have anything to do with the fact that she was so old (3 and a half years!) - maybe a blockage or something?
I have to take my cat to the vets next week so i'll ask the vet about it and let ya know what she said!!
