Hi
I am interested in getting two gerbils probably two brothers as I dont want babies. The tank is a good size tank its a 30 gallon long tank.
I know the basics but curious whats the general thought on hamster wheels for gerbils-Do they use them ?
Other than a wheel I dont know what works for excercise I intend (LOL well my dad does) to build non treated safe to chew wooden shelves,ramps in the tank to give them more climbing room.
I know they will shred it but thats fine.
I was going to order a solid plastic running wheel but read they chew plastic .

I have not had gerbils for quite a while, but they are quite active and love to be occupied with things to do.

Thanks. My dad and I are making safe wood ramps and shevles in the tank for them to enjoy . I am not sure about the wheel tho but might try it.
I wanted active small pets that would do well in two . I figured a 30 gallon would be okay for two gerbils with the top space being used to.
