Hi Elizabeth, bunnies grown up hunh, they must be so cute, have to post a pic for us before you give them away !
As far as keeping a bunny and housing it with Mom, bunnies are fine as long as they BOND.
They should be fine, Problem is if ya keep one thats male, your always going to have more babies to find homes for. Besides the wear and tear on poor Missy !
Unless you have the male neutered. Sometimes females will fight, I have had some that did not.
I wish you luck in your decision, let us know what you decide !
Glad they are all doing so well !

I'd recommend getting a NEUTERED male and try them together--if you already have one this has the best chance of working out. If you were going to get 2 bunnies I'd say get 2 sisters that have always been together. Neutering rabbits is quite easy and though they are more likely to be sensitive to anesthetic than dogs or cats, we've had 4 done and the neighbors have had a few as well (and our local SPCA now spays and neuters all rabbits it adopts out), it is for the most part a safe surgery. The cage size you describe in your more recent post sounds big enough for 2 bunnies but don't just toss the new one in...your girl won't like the invasion. Instead let them get used to each other in neutral territory while supervised--a room (with easy to clean tile floor!!) or a secure pen outside, then eventually you can move them in together.
thanks for the info...i was planning on getting them all neutered and stuff including Missy...(no more babies) we have enough rabbits around here. i was gonna keep one of her babies so i wouldn't have to worry about introducing her to a new one. i don't know how you breeders do this... its so had to find right homes for them and its so hard ot say goodbye to them. i guess thats why i don't breed...oh and for those that don't know...i didn't breed missy i rescued her and she was already pregnant. thanks again!
