Do rabbits need shots or need to be wormed at all?

Not that I know of! Certainly not indoor house rabbits, but I'm really not sure about outdoor rabbits. But I'm pretty sure they don't, because when I got my rabbit, a lady from the house rabbit society just said to go for an annual vet check, and none of those for me have ever included any kinds of shots or deworming.

I worm my rabbits every six months.They dont need shots though.I use pig wormer.

ReptileGurl, is that deworming just for outdoor bunnies though? Because if not, then I have been misinformed. But based on common sense, I wouldn't think indoor rabbits would need deworming.

Parasites can be in feed sometimes.But this is rare.Most rabbits get parasites from being let down on the ground outside.

ALL rabbits have parasits we dont know it though.Yes this is true a rabbit exepert told me.

You dont have too.I am not trying to force you or any won else too.You can worm your rabbit but you dont have too.

Like puppies that have never been outside there born with worms.

Most creatures are born with worms.

I happen to have alot of lizards, they all have them also, but they usually do not get out of control or harm the lizard unless they are stressed or sick in some way.

You would know if they were harming the bunny, she would not gain weight, may be lethargic, sickly, OR you would actually see some in her feces.

And yes, they can get worms from un washed greens and veggies.

I have never wormed any of my indoor bunnies and never have had a problem. But I suppose it is up to each individual.

If it something you are concerned with, ask your Vet !

Alright, that's what I thought. If deworming indoor rabbits was that important, than I'm sure my vet would have said something at some point in time. Thanks for the info though, good to know.
