Question, future rabbit owner

jananicole66 Jun 12, 2004 10:43 AM

Hello
I am planning on getting a rabbit in the future (like a year or two)and was wondering if i could get some input. I want a small small rabbit, like 2-4 pounds. I think that the Netherland Dwarf or the Dutch Dwarf are two that fit into this category, but can someone offer any other suggestions, or tell me what has a better temperpent etc?
Thanks

You may want to wait for a breeder of many types to help answer your BEST temperment question.

But through the years, I have owned many different types and with plenty of attention and handling, they ALL have been very sweet. And made excellent pets.

The dwarfs are nice, a good size for a first bunny, compact, and adorable,

Here are a few good sites with plenty of information you can study up on, so that by the time you get your new friend, you will have learned alot, and be able to better take care of him.

Wish you luck, and let us know when you get your bunny !

personally I'd reccomend a Holland lop over dwarfs....I've found some dwarfs to be to skittish for me......holland lop would fit into your size as well only getting to around 3 pounds or so.....ofcourse I guess its unfair for me to judge I just love lops more then anything lol.

I own Mini Lops. They are great pets. They get to be around 5-6 lbs. though. Small and adorible.

I haven't owned dwarfs, but I have heard they are pretty nippy.
