jananicole66 Jun 13, 2004 08:08 PM

Hello. I have been looking at info on lops.. i am confused. What is smaller, the Holland lop or the mini lop. Because i have been reading about them and some palces say the mini is smallest and some say that the holland Lop is the smallest. anyone that can clear that up, and give me their sizes, i would really appreciate it
thank you!

Hello....Hollands are the smallest of the two...grow to about an average of 2-3 pounds....mini's can get anywhere from 5-6 pounds...Dublin is a mini fuzzy....so he has longer hair then a normal mini....normal lops english and french lops can get huge...sometimes more then 20 in.....hope this helped some....Oh, I'm not sure on prices for mini's...But Dublin cost me 90 dollars....but the main reason was because he was already neutered.....And I highly reccommend a neutered or spayed bun...NO spraying at all...and he one happy little guy....it sooooo funny to watch him when i take him out of his cage.....he does a happy hoppy bunny dance LOL.

thank you!
i just find it funny that the ones called "mini lops" are notthe smallest breed
So holland lops, they are just gorgeous. they have a good temperment? i read that males are the best because females can get kinda testy in some seasons, or is that just ones who are expecting kits?

In my experience lops in general tend to have a pretty good temp....It just take time to get them used to you (as w/ anything)....I honestly have no experience w/ females as all my rabbits have been males....I find most fixed buns tend to be better tempered.

Iknow what you mean, used to everythign.
i have a leopard gecko, i got her when she was like just a month old. it took 4 months of me putting my hand in her cage for her to smell and get sued to me, before i could pick her up, now she walks right on.. i cant just like scoop her up, but she has grown to trust me and see me as a "nice" person or a big arm thingy, lol
