hi i was owndering if any one could direct to some good info on these guys. and how much different is there care from green iguanas. and what size do they obtain as adults? i will do my reasearch but i am looking into different lizards because my tegu is not doing well he has been in and out of the vet for a week and i think i will be losing him. he was adopted out of a bad situation and i may be getting ahead of myself because i may not lose him but i may consider getting one any way.(dont think i am a bad guy because i am considering finding another animal. i am the kind of person that needs another animal to move on.. sorry if that sounds bad but that is how i am.)

My understanding is that the Cuban iguanas are Rock iguanas and they are endangered.

Cuban Rock Iguanas are quite readily available in the pet trade. Check the classifieds here, David Blair's Critter Corner, and also some of the larger reptile dealers. I just saw two adorable babies available at the Tinley Park show from Glades Herpetological. They were priced at $240. Care is very similar to GGI's..diet is the same, temps are the same. The major difference is that Cubans are not arboreal so a very tall enclosure is not necessary. They do, however, require a lot of space horizontally.
