Giants and castles.

Hey Folks,
I recently built an 8'X8'X7'6" shed for a sheep, but if we can't get another sheep soon to quiet Her down, we'll have to give her back. So I'm possibly stuck with a decent sized shed and I figure this could be a great opportunity to do something about my love for rabbits. I have had one rabbit, Mungo, the Mini-Rex, one year in about 6 days! Everything has gone well with her. She's right here beside me now. I was looking at Flemish Giants and British Giants, though, and I think I would like some of those size rabbits. I live in Atlantic Canada (Cape Breton, Nova Scotia) and the winters here are pretty cold. I was wondering how many (if any) let's say British Giants could I fit in that size shed? Would they survive in there all winter? (We have snow here 4-6 months a year!) I live on 2 acres, lots of dandilions and no chemicals, I put Mungo on a harness and a leash and take her outside often, I could do the same thing with more rabbits. Any information would be much appriciated, if British Giants wouldn't work, are there any giants that would?

Thanks for the reply,
Yes, I want a "HUGE" rabbit, more than one actually. I live just outside of Sydney on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.

Hey,
A Mainlander, eh? I live just outside of Sydney on Cape Breton. Glad you pointed out (both of you) that you're fellow Nova-Scotians. I was just in Halifax last week, I was dissapointed to find out they were doing work on my favourite pet-shop up there, ahh well, I saw some Rex Rabbits (Which really aren't that much bigger than Mungo, my Mini-Rex) and a $700.00 Pot Bellied Pig, a few Ferrets, I saw some wierd mouse thing that looked sort of like that "House Hippo" on that Concerned Children's Advertisers commercial. That's my story, *laughs*, I guess I went a bit off topic.

hello.. if you are refering to Pets unlimited Bayers lake.... that palce makes me depressed.. i am a reptile owner and read a lot about many different kinds, though i only have a gecko.. the way they keep their reptiles is sick... ugh

Yes, that's the place I was refferring to. I've only been there a few times, but we don't have a pet store down here. Sorry to hear about the way they treat their reptiles. Is there a better pet store in Halifax?

Umm the only one i can think of is Ruffins in Bedford place mall.. they seem pretty decent, probly cause though there are a few of them throughout the country, this one is managed by young guys who have their own reptiles and pets and know what they are doing for the most part..
Everything else is Pets Unlimited.. and they are all pretty much... well not very nice to be in if the person knows anything about animals and what sort of care they require..
I dont really like any pet stores, because from all the ones I have seen they are mostly just big chains who hire people for minumum wage.. in fact i often see classifieds for pets unlimited, looking for people to work for lik 6.50.. wiht "no previous experience required".. so.. yea i just dont like pet stores.. they make me sad.
