Plz help, my bunny!

peaches54732 Oct 26, 2004 12:03 AM

Plz Help! About 2 weeks ago i was watching my neighbors rabbit susie while they were away, I have a rabbit as well.. My neighbors said that theres was a girl so there shouldn't be a problem with them being near eachother so... as i do with mine i let them run around for a while in my room.... My rabbit is trained so she gets to go in and out of her cage as she pleases, well ne way to the point, after watching them a while i relized that the neightbors bunny was .. uh yea doing stuff.. lol at that moment i figured that the neighbors rabbit wasn't a girl it was infact a boy.. (i checked later on) Now my female rabbit (princess) might infact be pregnant. She has been moody/grunting somthing shes never really done. She also now has her nipples sticking out ... I tried finding a vet that can check to see if she is pregnant and have no luck i have tired to find breeders no luck there either. I tried that palapation thing, and i donno what i am doing.. can somone plz help i would like to know for sure if she is.... ahead of time b-4 she has her kits. I looked on sites and haven't really found any signs that she is pregnant other then pulling fur. Ne info would be very helpful! THANKS ALOT! ~me and princess~

Hi, shes a cutey! Well it is hard to say, first are you really super sure, yours is female and the neighbors was male?

Because some same sex bunnies will mount one another.

How old is your princess she looks young in the pic? Anyway if their bunny was a male and they did breed, then the palpating is the only way I know to tell, right now.

Did you go to the site below on breeding and follow the steps on the procedure?

Also you can look at the females vent area, should be small and pale it says if early stages.

As far as the pulling out the hair they only do that right before they give birth, to line their nest and also cover the kits after. But you should begin to notice the very full tuft of fur hanging from around her neck area that she will use when ready!

If you do not know how to palpate, then you will either have to find someone who does or make her an appointment and let the Vet examine her.

OR just wait, YOU ARE SURE TO FIND OUT SOON ENOUGH. The swollen nibbles also is an indicator, in my opinion

Good luck let us know. Here is the bunny site on breeding just incase you don't have it!

Well, she is a little over a year, and i know for sure she is a girl and he is a boy. I checked...... :-D She has been extremely moody latley..... Somthing shes never really shown..... grunting and growling all the time she has a bed in her cage and never really did anything untill now to it.. now shes digging and pulling out all the stuffing.... I wouldn't mind if she was pregnant.... Also i cant find a breeder/vet that takes rabbits at all! not even to see if shes pregnant. but thankyou for the information. All i know about her is that the sides of her uh. are really dark purple and privite is kinda dark red. ... thanx
