I have 2 outdoor rabbits. Had one for 4 years, one for 2 years.
My older daughter mentioned that the younger rabbit was listless, not jumping away when seeing you, which is unusual.
So I went to it this afternoon, and sure enough, did not run away. I picked her up to bring her inside for a closer look. and on the way, she jerked her head up and white stuff poured out of her nose and her mouth opened. Then she slowly died in my arms.
What happened? She was fine yesterday.

When was the last time your rabbit saw a veterinarian? Sounds like she had a horrible upper respiratory infection or something even worse.

I agree, sounds as if it were some sort of resp infection. Such a shame!

Always sad, when they get sick or die. I would say she most likely was NOT fine the day before, we just sometimes do not notice until the symtoms are servere.

It was my 7 year old's "baby", so this was her first real big animal death, so it was traumatic for both me and her.
The good news is that my one neighbor is moving to another state, and the word is that she might pass her bunny on to me!

That would be BUNNYRIFFIC hunh, thats really nice. I hope the neighbor comes through, if not well
