Hi. I am very eager to buy a bunny, but my mom is just not budging. I think if I ask her and bug her some more she'll let me, but I have a few questions. Now, I already have a cage for it, but I wasn't sure if bunnies had to live outside in the summer or if they could stay indoors all the time. I was planning on taking in outside on a regular basis when it becomes warm again. I also don't know whether to get a male or female. I was planning on getting my rabbit from the humane society because they have tons and I just feel really bad for all of them and didn't know what gender to get. Please leave a comment!!!

Thanks.

Hey,

Well..I keep all my bunnies outside under a roof...I run 13 box fans in my rabbit house though when it is over 70.I have alot of bunnies though so 1 or 2 fans whould go great on the bunny. In the winter I tarp up all the sides so the wind cannot blow on them...REMEMBER NORTH A EAST!And yes you can keep inside bunnies...I gave my friend a netherland dwarf buck and she has him inside!.
Now,I prefer a buck for a pet because the usally dont get mean..Does can when there 6-8 months. But please remember the key word..CAN.I have a jersey woolie doe outside and she was MEAN...until I bred her to a buck. Now she is sooo sweet!
Hope this helps..Ask me anything I also breed netherland dwarfs and jersey woolies..
Bye!

I never leave my bunnies outside unattended. Even if they are in a secure cage cats or dogs could still come around and scare them to death. I do have a large chain link dog kennel they run around in on nice days when I am home. If you are worried about them getting too warm in the house in summer months you can try what I do. I freeze two litter soda bottles filled with water and put them in the cage. I also leave a fan on in the room. (not blowing directly on them)
Good luck to you, and great name by the way.
