Is anyone on?? I need help, my rabbit is hurt

Topaz Mar 16, 2005 02:59 PM

I think a dog got her from under the cage, i think one of her toes is bitten off. Her feet are bloody, but not bleeding. She dosn't seem to be in pain and she's not being floopy. I think that a good sign. But she has a large wond on her back side. A palm sized peice of skin is torn off. It isn't bleeding though. I'm not sure what to do. I can't call the vet and no one's here. We don't have enough monye for the vet anywas. I'm to try and bandge her wounds. What should I do?? Please help me

That is a shame. If ya can't get to a vet, then just get it as clean as possible, maybe use peroxide, her back and feet, most people have that around. If not use warm soap and water.
Pat it dry and use Neosporin, any kind of antibiotic ointment you may have.

And if you don't have any in, I have used good ole vaseline on wounds many times, may leave her a bit messy for awhile, but her wounds will heal.

I'm sure everyone will give different advice , just do the best ya can to keep her wounds clean .

Also try and keep her safe/ in a quiet place where she will not be stressed after this horrible attack.

I wish you the best with her. and please let us know how she does.

Also , guess you will have to rig her cage up some how to keep all preditors from ever being able to harm her again. Nasty doggie
