Female Rabbit stomping on the floor - mating call ??

dcmander Nov 22, 2005 01:20 PM

I have a female rabbit that is about 9 years old. I think she is a minilop.

She has not been spayed.

Some days she will sit in her cage or out on the floor and she will stomp her back foot hard on the floor. It is really loud!

I was wondering if anyone here knew what this was all about ?? It is really quite humerous.

I believe that rabbits stomp on the ground like that to warn of danger...but that's not the only possability. I think that wild rabbits, who live around lots of other wild rabbits, will thump the ground to warn the others that something is up.

I have talked to other rabbit owners who said that they're rabbit did that when it was mad or upset.

When a rabbit stomp's his/her foot,it means she/he is scared, frighted or if she/he has just got dont mating.
