Is there anyone around who would take care of your rabbit for you while your gone? If not, I sapose it would be better to take it with you then to leave it home alone! I've never traveled long distances with a bunny before but I would suggest maybe getting one of those cat carrier things for the ride. Made sure the bunny had food and water, and maybe some hay, and that it doesn't get too hot or anything in the car. Just try to keep the rabbits stress level as low as possable!
I have driven with rabbits up to 4 hours.I guess it depends on the rabbit. I wouldn't recomend it if the rabbit is really nervous in new surroundings. I put mine in cat carrier with some blankets and greens. I know it is too late now but if you take a lot of trips you might want to get a edstrom water buddy bottle. They have a valve so they don't leak with movement. They are perfect for trips.
Also,to make your rabbits*not scared of noise* play a radio in the same room with your rabbit.
I do it for my rabbit's and they never get scared at the shows..It can be realllly loud too.
When we bring my rabbits to a show and leave,it can take anywere from 1-6 hours to get to the show. So,all you need to do is get a water bottle(travel size) a little feed to put in the carrier and a handful of hay. That calms them down.
Even put a peice of willow in there with em' to chew on.Apples work good too.
