Lion mane rabbits?

eatinmachine Jan 14, 2006 05:28 PM

I saw these at a reptile show I went to today and loved them. I don't like rabbits a lot but have thought about getting one and want one of these. This guy had some with double manes for only 10 dollars a piece. How much do these guys weigh and about how long are they does anyone know? Thanks Josh

I think I will get one in the spring when I can. (I made a deal with my mom no more animals for six months a short while ago. If I were to get 2 how big of a cage would I need? FI they are nice when you get them and then don't handle them a lot will they stay nice?

Rabbits are a lot of work to keep. They can also run into money. They should be spayed/neutered to avoid medical and behavioral problems. They need a lot of room to exercise and generally don't do well left outdoors. They need fresh greens daily and unlimited hay. They need to be given lots of toys, they get destructive when bored. The lionheads you are thinking of would need to be brushed daily.

Rabbits are great pets if you are willing to put the time and energy into them. The desicion to bring one into your family should not be taken lightly.
