I just noticed that one male rabbit has a large lump below his jaw towards the right. It's hard, about the size of a ping-pong ball. He ate a full carrot and some cabbage today so he is still eating. I'm worried. Does anyone know what this is? How do I treat it?

You should take him to the vet, they'll be able to tell you what it is and what should be done for it.

Good luck!

My apologies for taking so long to reply. I did take him to the vet and she told me the abscess was probably caused from a tooth infection and I had options such as having them open and drain the abscess at the clinic, going to a rabbit specialist to have his tooth (or teeth) removed, and/or putting him on long-term antibiotics. After hearing what she had to say I decided to - before any of the options that would cause stress to him - soak it in warm water and epsom salts. Within a few days it popped, now he is healing well and seems much happier.

I would continue to watch that though, make sure all the infection is out, also if the tooth caused this, and theres a problem with the tooth, theres a chance this can happen again, just keep an eye on him

Let us know how he does!
