Plucking Fur

sarasmushu Jul 17, 2007 05:23 PM

My Female Rabbit just Started Plucking her fur, I had put a Fairly large amount of hay in he cage, and when I went out to check on her later in the Day she was running around with her fur hanging from her mouth and At first I thought it was From her back legs as she is shedding Rather Badly. However today I went out to take some of the hay out as she wasn't eating it and I found out she had basicly made a nest in the Hay over half of her Hair on her belly was in the nest. I used to Breed RAbbits and i have never had one do this other than when they where Getting Ready to give birth.
She is an only Rabbit and her cage is off the Ground 3ft. so my First thought was She's Preg but I dont' think thats possible Unless a Wild RAbbit can get up that high. Is it Possible she's just being Weird? I haven't been able to Feel anything in her Belly so. She has been a little more mild manored lately usually she's a little Crabby.

She's cute.

It does sound like she's nesting. If your sure she couldn't have gotten pregnant then she could be having a false pregnancy.
